About Dr. Bronwen Gates

Bronwen Gates went to the University of Toronto Medical School and graduated in 1970. Following graduation, she completed her Fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Anesthesiology. She worked at Women’s College Hospital (Toronto) for 16 years and is currently on staff at the Holland Center of Orthopedics and Arthritis (part of Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto).

Bronwen’s interest in Hypnotherapy developed from personal experience. Discovering just how powerful the mind is and what it can accomplish with the right information, she became excited about expanding her medical practice in a new direction. Studying to become a Hypnotherapist, she became certified by the Psycholinguistic Society in the United States and in Ericksonian Hypnosis by the Neurolinguistic Programming Society in Canada.

She believes in the importance of staying up-to-date in both her fields of interest (Anesthesiology and Hypnotherapy) by reading, attending courses and conferences, and through interaction with her colleagues.

Bronwen grew up in Etobicoke, attending Rosethorn Public School and Richview Collegiate Institute. She is an active member of Islington United Church. She loves music (singing and playing), crafts and challenging her mind with puzzles.
